Arginine & Fat Burning - September 8th, 2009

Some of the foods that have arginine are white flour, gelatin, Carob, nuts, soybeans, chocolate, raw cereals, coconut, meat, oats, peanuts, walnuts, dairy products, wheat, and wheat germ. You may be asking yourself what is arginine? Well, here is what I learned: it is an amino acid. Important in muscle metabolism, it can help in the release of growth hormones, they say it can be great for arthritis, immune system, regulating the enzymes and hormones.

It helps stimulate the pancreas to release insulin. I wasn’t aware of this but apparently when you are stressed out it uses up arginine. If you are experiencing congestive heart failure, decreased athletic performance, infertility, blood pressure, gastitis, or slow wound healing you might be deficient in arginine. So if you are experiencing any of these things try and eat more foods that contain this important amino acid.
